The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was in Gbazango, Kubwa.

His visit was to undertake an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing road construction of the road popularly known as Arab Road.

Recall that InsideKubwa had taken a brief tour of the project and expressed excitement about the new look of that stretch of road.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the minister made a stopover in Gbazango, Kubwa, as part of his inspection tour of construction work at other project sites in Karu, Apo-Karshi.

The minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done so far, and commended the contractors for maintaining high standards while sticking to strict delivery timelines.

Mr Wike praised the contractor for bringing their firm’s track record to bear on the project, as they did with the Ushafa Road inaugurated in 2025, which justifies the administration’s trust in indigenous capacity.

Residents were reportedly excited to see the minister on the inspection tour and expressed joy at the transformation going on in their locality.

According to Philip Yatai of NAN, the minister said:

“You can see how happy the residents here are. Without an invitation, they took time to really appreciate that they can see governance in action.”

He emphasised that the administration’s priorities are excellence and speed, ensuring that road projects are in tandem with engineering benchmarks and deadlines.

“One thing is doing a quality job, and another thing is keeping to the timeline.

“I assure you that the FCT will soon witness a flurry of inaugurations to celebrate the administration’s milestones,” he added.

The former Rivers State Governor is known for being active and engaged with matters of road infrastructure and general building. His administration has brought about a visible transformation in the FCT, and as can be seen, Kubwa is a major beneficiary of the ongoing upgrade in transportation infrastructure.
