Super Eagles, Manchester Derby and Kubwa!

After the semifinal loss to Morocco, the whole football vibe in Kubwa has been on the low however this weekend did not fall to bring drama with it.

The Manchester Derby began the footballing activity for the weekend. Viewing centers were not exactly packed as everyone expected Manchester City to obliterate Manchester United… the Red Devils stole the day by shocking City to a 2 nil victory.

Ice, a Manchester United fan in Kubwa had this to say;

“It’s was a great match , I still have grievances with the way my club is run but I am a Man U fan first for the football and it was great to see the whole team playing as one unit all we’ve always asked for.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria locked horns later in the evening with the Pharaohs of Egypt. We didn’t quite use our first team and we had a decent showing. The game ended in a nil nil stalemate and we moved on to penalties.

Nigeria won her first penalty shootout under our coach Eric Chelles. Congrats to Nigeria on coming third place once again, not what we would have wanted but better on the podium than not on it at all.
