Published

on

Elections closed at 2:30 p.m as stipulated.

Counting of votes has since commenced with some polling units concluding the counting under 20 minutes due to low number of registered voters on the units register. Meanwhile some other polling units are still counting votes as at 4 p.m even as the voter turnout is less than 15 percent.

Meanwhile, results recorded in form EC8A are uploaded onto IREV using the BVAS and the INEC officials reported no difficulty with the upload.

Despite the ease of process, the most tasking work for the INEC officials has been the crossing of unused ballot papers.

Party agents and volunteers has offered to assist with the task in order to ease the work for the INEC staff.
