FCT Area Council Mock Elections holds of Saturday, 7th of February, 2026.

As part of the preparation for the important FCT Area Council Elections, the Independent Electoral Commission is holding a mock election in selected polling units all across the FCT.

This is aimed at test running and fine-tuning its preparation for the February 21st elections.

In a statement released by INEC’s FCT  Resident Electoral Commissioner, the mock exercise will begin from 8:30 a.m and and at 2:30 p.m on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in 289 selected polling units.

According to the commission, the mock election is aimed at ensuring a hitch-free Area Council election by testing accreditation and the results upload processes.

INEC calls on voters in designated polling units to turn out with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and take part in the mock exercise, as it will help the commission identify areas to be corrected, if any.

Here in Kubwa, 19 polling units have been designated for the exercise across the three wards. See the list below:

It is hoped that political parties and their candidates will mobilise their supporters to make the exercise successful, as it will reflect INEC’s preparedness for the main election.

Inside Kubwa continues to advocate for mass participation in the forthcoming election, as it will be a sign of community and grassroots social and political consciousness and deliberateness.
