SINGLE PARENT DRIVES A TAXI IN ABUJA .

Tejumade is a single mother of two grown up girls(13 years and 16 years old) that has made herself standout in her driving profession.

When she started driving in 2019 as an  Uber driver , her daughters were very small and she used to close work by 11:00p or 12:00 mid night.She faced insults and rejection by a lot of her male and female customers who just didn’t want to be driven by a female.At that challenging time in her life, she also missed some driving routes or coudnt easily locate some places and this made her company cancel some of hr riding tasks.This was painful but Tejumade took it all in good faith as a learning process.As of that time she was also driving someones car and remitting funds to the person at a prearranged manner.This was an incredibly trying moment for her.

Through these years and amidst it all, Tejumade has become a more experienced driver who now closes by 10:00pm and still shows great care for her grown up daughters as she spends adequate time with them (praying with them and for them,listening to them while counseling them, going shopping with them along with going to church with them).

Over these years, Tejumade has not and wont compromise as she explained to me that some of her colleagues( female drivers) sleep with their passengers.She has remained very professionally and she has so saved up money that she now drives her own car.She remains very focused while successfully balancing parenting and her work.She remains a benchmark of a successful single parent as she displays an amazing resilnet spirit as she also advices other single mums to know that they can do all things through Christ that strengthens them.
