The Inheritance:Who Is Next?

Inheritances are funds, assets and documents passed to a spouse of a dead person after the persons demise. Sadly, in the past 3 weeks , The Bow has monitored the Abuja end of a instructions enumeration and this revealed that a lot of spouses in Abuja are enlisting majorly their children and a few  relatives as their next of kins and people to contact in cases of emergency. This is so wrong.

This has created disorderliness in the family which is the basic unit of the society. This has a wife (upon the death of her spouse who wrongly willed off his property to others) to be insulted and sexually abused even at the peak of her mourning moments . This action has and continues to portray a sense of distrust in a spouse and it obviously put the family in a lot of stress and further sorrow as the spouse and other members of the family watch as capitalist who didn’t work for these assets  come and take these properties/assets away in mischief due to one persons error(most times these assets cant be recovered by the spouse or the children). However, some spouses have seemingly justified this their decision  stating that their other halves will mismanage their property upon their demise. Sadly, these spouses will off these properties, documents and assets to wrong people (children who don’t know the value or relatives who never invested into those properties or assets while their relative was alive.

It is proper that a wife MUST will her assets to her husband and vice versa or unless one of the partners is dead then the children will obviously be the next choice to get the inheritance .We should stop the anomaly of willing off family assets to our children and or relatives or friends. We demand a more sustainable society where family decisions and values are seriously respected in its entirety.
