On a typical early morning week day in Kubwa at its various busstops(Federal Housing on top and under bridge, Phase 3, NNPC, NYSC, Arab road, Byzano, Liberty Junction, Lagos Street junction) you view a swarm of workers going to their offices with a zeal to do knowledge sharing for the nation and their individual pockets. Its shocking that a lot of unemployed people wonder why they are still jobless and those in the workplace are not improving. The workplace demands a lot of flexibility and knowledge flowing in an active manner for efficiency and productivity.
We think that getting work is just easy and its all about applying or having an insider in the firm.The workplace has gone way beyond that. It demands that an employee or a job seeker be one with an inexhaustive knowledge base yet resourceful and still meek but humble. In recent years, with the growth of the internet and the entry of AI into all aspects of our lives, it has become increasingly important that one is knowledgeable in all aspects of everything .
Being knowledgeable basically involves reading daily, listening to news daily, discussing with people about relevant issues.It also involves doing a certification course every 1-2 years inorder to upgrade and upskill .Inorder for one to also get knowledgeable, one has to get a mentor who has the abundant knowledge base we so desire (tapping into the wealth of knowledge of the mentors as we are mentees).
There are several advantages of being knowledgeable in the course of continuing personal development. Being knowledgeable gives you value and makes you have some self worth that enables you to be relevant where ever you go. People show you that distinct respect for what you know and it gives you rare opportunities and privilege’s that makes you stand out.To be knowledgeable no doubt is to be distinctThe losses and wasteages in life generally are minimized when there is knowledge. No wonder that one can say that lack of skill can kill.Acquiring knowledge is a skill that gives a compound effect with time.This is the time for us all to be excellent and the best in all we do.
