Is Kubwa just a place where you come home to relax after a long and busy day in “Town”?
I bet there are some, even many, who think so. But far from it. You probably know it is more than that. But I bet there is much more about this Kubwa that you don’t know. Why do I think so? Because you leave Kubwa in the morning and come back by sunset, and if that has been your routine for years, then there is certainty that you would not be aware of some of the essential government and public offices located here in Kubwa.
Imagine being on leave or taking a well-deserved break from work, and you need some service, especially public service, and somehow you think that service is not available in Kubwa, making you hop in a vehicle and head to town for it when you should be sleeping. Well, that would be you burning fuel, money, and of course, increasing the stress you took the break to reduce for yourself.
So here are some important government offices in Kubwa you should know of.

MOPOL Squadron 50: The Police Mobile Force Squadron 50 is located on Akpabuyo Road, the same road that is beside Veterans Plaza. It is a strategic security hub for Kubwa

Federal Fire Service FCT Command HQ: The Abuja headquarters of the Federal Fire Service shares fence with MOPOL Squadron 50, and it is a serene environment that offers space for the officers to carry out some light drills.

Directorate of Road Traffic Services or VIO: This very office is usually a big discovery for many drivers who find themselves at the point where they are forced to renew their vehicle papers, and then they get pleasantly surprised that there is a functional VIO office in Kubwa! Incidentally, they are also neighbours with the Fire Service.

High Court of the FCT Kubwa Division: This is located just by the Police Division in Phase 4. Many legal fuctions, documentations and filings can be done there without needing to go to Wuse or Garki or any other place for the service.
- Military Pensions Board: Located in FO1, it is impossible to miss from a distance as they occupy a large expanse and render services to retired military personnel.
- NIPOST & NIMC: The post office, which also serves as a NIN enrollment centre, sits prominently at Phase 4, opposite the General Hospital.
- National Examinations Council-NECO: The FCT office of NECO is located in Kubwa along Arab Road, for easy access to exams and certificate processes.
We also have the IITA, the NYSC Camp, and the Social Insurance Trust Fund(NSITF) on Arab Road as well as the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) office right off Akpabuyo Road.
So you see, Kubwa is a hub for public service needs, and we only need to explore and discover that we can get a lot done here.
