Indigenes of Umuguma Town hosted in Kubwa to emphasise care, brotherliness, unity and kindred spirit.
The need to solidify closeness and unity among the sons and daughters of Umugumatown residing in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, was further expressed on Sunday, 8th of February 2026, as the members of Umuguma Town Union, Abuja branch, led by their president, High Chief Pascal Emeonyu, the Ekenweiha 1 of Owerri West, held their meeting; this time in Kubwa.
The meeting, which is held monthly, was vibrant and colourful as members turned up looking their best and showing a real sense of togetherness and closeness with each other.
Protocol and agenda were observed, and matters concerning individual members and the group were deliberated upon in an atmosphere of care. Members shared meals and were entertained with popular musical tunes from the finest Igbo musical artists.

Speaking with Insidekubwa.com after the event, which took place at the event-friendly Countyside Guest House along Gado Nasko Road, the charismatic president of the Union in Abuja, High Chief Emeonyu, highlighted why the meeting is significant to the people of Umuguma living here in Abuja. He said: “All sons and daughters of Umuguma, we want to bring them together”. Reflecting on the reasons, he went on to state, “We brought ourselves together, so that we know ourselves more, so that we’d solve our problems; if you are in difficulties as brother or sister, we will know your problem, we will come to your aid”.
The meeting was a chance to observe how society is held together at the very core, or cellular level, which translates to the cohesion that is enjoyed in society at large.
Further explaining their core objective, the president made it clear that the union exists to “bring brotherliness and bring everybody together, so that we know, when our brother is facing difficulty, we come to their aid; we also want to rejoice when our brother or sister is rejoicing, we’d also be with you, that is the essence of the meeting”. He emphasised the need for unity, welfare, shared advice and progress among members who need to stick together as kindred whose strong roots lie in Umuguma in Owerri West in Imo State.
The need to maintain a strong bond is what makes the union have a meeting on the second Sunday of every month, which, according to the president, allows them to gather “to look at our faces, to discuss our problems individually, collectively and as a town, we get reports from home; things we can send to the home, we send; security, building of schools, building of hospitals, that’s what we do”.
