BWARI AREA COUNCIL ELECTIONS: THE ROLL CALL FOR CHAIRMANSHIP

Published

on

Recall that on the 28th of September, 2025, the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) released the final list of candidates for the February 21 FCT Area Council Elections, where a new set of chairmen and councillors will be elected to oversee the affairs of their various domains.

It has been a very busy time for the aspirants ever since, as expected.

All around Bwari Area Council, it is common to meet a convoy of vehicles at random places; from Ushafa to Igu, from Kawu to Dutse, from Kubwa to Kuduru. Aspirants have been traversing the length and breadth of the Area Council, canvassing for votes and embarking on visits to community leaders as a sign of respect, while seeking their blessing and support.

While it may not be possible to meet all the aspirants, it is important to note the names of those who have shown aspiration to be in the top seat of the Bwari Area Council and on which political party they have chosen to launch their aspiration.

Below is the representation of the list as published by INEC:

  1. NWOSU MICHAEL CHUKS -A
  2. ADAMU WILSON -AA
  3. MUSA JOSIAH ABINLO-ADC
  4. AUDU ALIYU -ADP
  5. HARUNA SHEKWOLO AUDI-APC
  6. EKEE ALOYSIUS IZUCHUKWU-APGA
  7. GALADIMA SALISU SHUAIBU-NNPP
  8. AKOGWU FRANCES MICHAEL-NRM
  9. ADAMU JULIUS -PDP
  10. ABUBAKAR ABDULLAHI S.-SDP
  11. DANJUMA SOLOMON GARDA-ZLP

Also note that the candidate who would eventually clinch the seat will have the privilege of serving a four-year tenure in the first instance, as provided for in the new electoral law, as opposed to the three-year tenure that was the case previously.

It is the call of this platform, insidekubwa.com, that every eligible voter take this election seriously and make arrangements to participate by voting for a candidate of their choice. There may be strong reasons to desist from participating, but such reasons do not serve the developmental potentials of communities, and that can only change when residents get actively involved in choosing who runs the political affairs of their communities.
